Selection criteria
The goal of Chalmersinvest is to have participated as financier in the fastest growing companies formed within the univeristy college sphere in the Gothenburg area.This means that Chalmersinvest only invest in companies which have potential to be growth companies. This implies that the companies should have the following characteristics: - The companies' business concept will be based upon delivery of products or services as products.
- The product will contain a certain amount of uniqueness, and should be possible to protect by patent or other restrictions.
- The product will contain a clear customer benefit compared to existing alternatives on the market.
- The need of the product will be clear, sufficiently large and preferably growing.
- The product will be internationally accessible.
- The realism with regard to technical solutions and production will be high.
- Calculated manufacturing costs will give a high gross margin.
- The people in and behind the company will show commitment and professionalism for working with the company's development in a sufficient scope and for long time.
- The people will accept the need for supplementary skills and personnel as the company develops.
- The people behind the company will accept successive broadened scope of ownership instead of a wholly-owned company.
